Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment issues several distinct license categories, and picking the wrong one can cost real time and money. The main types include commercial, service/industrial/agricultural/real estate, scientific and technical office, land transport, professional, and engineering consultancy licenses.
Each has very different requirements. A commercial license, for example, generally requires the applicant to operate in at least three regional or global markets and commit to significant capital over five years. A scientific and technical office, by contrast, is far more limited in scope and cannot conduct direct commercial activity.
