Investing in Saudi Arabia: FAQ

Can a foreigner own 100% of a company in Saudi Arabia?

Yes, in most activities. After obtaining a MISA investment license, foreign investors can fully own an LLC or open a branch. A small number of activities are restricted or have extra conditions, which we check at the start.

What is the MISA license?

It is the investment license issued by the Ministry of Investment (MISA). It allows a foreign-owned entity to operate in the Kingdom and is the first legal step before the Commercial Registration.

How much capital do I need?

It depends on the activity and license category. Many service activities have no high minimum, while some sectors, such as trading or specific industries, have specific requirements. We confirm the current rules for your activity.

Do I have to live in Saudi Arabia?

Not necessarily as an owner, but the company usually needs a manager resident in the Kingdom. Investor visas and premium residency are available for owners who want to relocate.

Which city is best for investors?

Riyadh suits government-related and headquarters businesses, Jeddah suits trade and consumer brands, and the Eastern Province suits industry, energy and contracting.
